First Plunge

A visit to the spice market this morning gave us a first taste (metaphorical and literal) of life in Grenada’s biggest city, St. George’s. Even though most of them had slept little more than a couple of hours last night, the students plunged right in. I’m guessing it has everything to do with their collective global experience, which is impressive. On their own and through SPH, they’ve worked and studied and lived in Hong Kong, Costa Rica, Senegal, Uganda, Morocco, Tunisia, China, and Ghana. No doubt as the trip progresses, I’ll hear about more experiences.

Tropical fruits abound. We revived ourselves with smoothies–passion fruit, mango, banana, cantaloupe, papaya, guava …
